Birka – The city of the Vikings

On the free day you will have the possibility to visit the first Swedish city, Birka was founded already in the 8th century. Come along for a trip back in time to explore the life and culture of the Vikings. Birka was an important trading post in the Middle Ages and is today included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Don’t forget to book our Tours!
In connection with the World Veteran
Championships several trips will be organized to various destinations in
Stockholm and Sweden .
Pre and post tours
Before and after the competition is the ability to go longer trips, for example to the wilderness in the Northern part of Sweden or to the beautiful Island, Gotland. The last day to order is April 1st.
Tours on the free day
During the free day you can choose to take a boat-trip to the Archipelago or to make a visit to the Vasa ship. Book your place through us to be sure to be able to experience the archipelago. During the summer visit many tourists Stockholm and therefore can it be difficult to get tickets.
There are only a few tickets left to the Archipelago tours – first come first served!
The last day to register for the tours on the free day is may 1st.

The limit of 3200 is reached!
The amount of 3200 players reached!
We have started a waiting list and it is still possible to register, but NOT to pay the entry fee. The waiting list will be arranged on the basis ”first come, first served”. When we receive cancellations in entries we will contact the person in turn on the waiting list.
It is still possible to register and pay for accompanying and visitors as well as booking other activities. If you wish to do so, contact Congrex at wvc2012.registration@congrex.com.

Player maximum raised to 3200
The organizing committee of WVC 2012 is happy to announce that we now are accepting 3200 players. 2800 players where registered already before December 24th and due extensive demand we have decided to extend the tournament and accept 3200 players.
In order to secure your place in the tournament, please ensure that you pay the admission fee promptly. You are only fully registered once the fee has been paid, and as previously announce we work on a “first (paid) come, first served” basis.
Those registering after the admission maximum is reached will automatically be put on a waiting list. When cancellations appear the next in turn on the waiting list will get a place in the Championship.

World Veteran and Paralympics
First the World
Veteran Championships (WVC) in Stockholm, then the Paralympics in London.
Two greatgoals in 2012 for the MS-handicapped Swedish player Anna-Carin Ahlquist, 39, from the Linné Table Tennis Club in Gothenburg.
Recently she was picked to the Swedish Paralympics team to the London Olympics. This is the second time for Anna-Carin Ahlquist. Beijing in 2008 was her first.
